The HyperDoc Information Server technology provides the ability to publish database on the Internet. HIS technology can be used to create documentation archive according to user requirements. The "Structural and production documentation archive" demonstration database presents capability of HyperDoc in creating an archive of structural and production documentation of mechanical devices assembled from proprietary produced and externally delivered parts. Additional possibilities of fast and easy ways of searching and gathering information from database are also shown.

"Devices" hierarchy contains archive of technical documentation of current projects. It is composed of two levels: assemblies and parts. Each of them can be accompanied by documents of the following types: drawing (assembly, constructional, electric layout, hydraulic scheme), picture, manufacturer's documentation, calculations, price lists.

HIS provides user with easy and efficient search tools. There are two kinds of search available. If you want to find objects of certain type or matching given criteria like list code or number in stock you can use "Find object" function. If you want to find any document like drawing or manufacturer documentation you should use "Find Documents" function.

To begin search go to documents Menu and select Find Documents function. The dialog window will appear on the screen - now you can define your search preferences.

After pressing "Find" button HIS will return search results. It is also possible to define "Max count", feature that determinates a maximal number of results returned at a time. Option "Search results" defines the way the results are sorted.

To begin search go to objects Menu and select Find Objects function. Specify the following:

It is also possible to view the search results through Object InfoScope. To activate this function select object menu, then "Show Object InfoScope". This window will display only hierarchies consisting of objects that satisfy search criteria.
