HyperDoc Online demonstrates the HyperDoc Internet Server (HIS). HIS is a new member of the HyperDoc package that opens access to standard HyperDoc databases through the Internet or intranet using a Web browser. HIS offers read-only access to documents stored in the HyperDoc database. HIS user interface is very similar to HyperDoc.

Basing on a very good repute amongst our customers held by HIS 1.02 we decided to release a second edition of HIS. The main goals in this release are:

• extended functionality
• improved efficiency
• improved performance

This version works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, 5.5 and 6.

This demo is based on our NetMan sample database.

Business Objects Tree defines document management structure that reflects your business-specific needs. You can navigate through Business Objects Tree to find a given object. Click on the Business Object label to display list of documents associated with the object and object attributes.

A Business Objects Tree menu available on the top of the pane provides an access to following commands:

• Set hierarchy - allows to select hierarchy
• Set hierarchy - allows to select hierarchy (if database has multiple hierarchies)
• Find objects - allows to find objects in hierarchy
• Object set - allows to add or remove object from object set
• Display Object InfoScope - allows to open InfoScope window with Object InfoScope
• Display Document InfoScope - allows to open InfoScope window with Document InfoScope
• Refresh current hierarchy
• Help - shows Hierarchy Pane and Object Properties Pane online help

Business Object Property pane shows attributes of the current Business Object.

Document List pane shows a list of documents associated with the current Business Object. You can show All documents or documents of selected type only. Click on Show link at the end of document row to display content of the document.

A Document List menu available in the top of the pane provides an access to the following commands:

• Download file - allows to download document file content
• Find document - allows to find documents using its attributes
• Set presentation - allows to select presentation to use, it also shows legend window
• Help - shows online help for Document List Pane

Document Content pane shows content of the document highlighted in the Document List pane. For those who are familiar with HIS 1.02 this part of the HIS is the most different from its predecessor. A new user interface of this pane provides an improved zoom and pan tools, which allow you to display a required part of the document.

HyperDoc Online allows you to print document using a Print template technology. The print template is a special drawing that defines layout of a printed page. Additionally, template can contain standard drawing border where some texts can be taken directly from HyperDoc database. It defines a part of the printout where document content will be printed. The Print Preview button displays a printout preview. Pushing this button opens a new window, which contains the print preview image ready to print.

New features in HIS 2.1 are:

• visibility control of Object Overlay and Redlining drawings and measuring tools
• new drawing tools: Crosshair and Ortho Snap Mode
• legend window for Presentation Filters

In Business Objects Tree menu there is command for finding objects and in Document List menu there is command for finding documents. Selecting the Find objects command shows a form where you can enter search criteria for objects. Selecting the Find documents command shows a form where you can enter search criteria for documents.

To find objects enter search criteria in the object search form and press the Find button. List of objects meeting specified criteria is shown at the bottom of the form. You can limit the number of entries shown on a page by setting Max Count. Press Show button next the object description to show this object in the Business Objects Tree pane.

Image displayed in the Document Content pane may contain links to other objects or documents in the database. When you click the link, relevant object gets highlighted in the Business Objects Tree, Document List pane is filled appropriately and content of one of the documents is displayed automatically.
